    15 Obituary:
    Dorothy K. Triffo, who was born on June 3, 1924 in Binghamton, N.Y., died in Canon City, Colorado on December 5, 2012, after a long ordeal with Alzheimer's disease. Mrs. Triffo was a purchasing agent for General Electric in Westover, N.Y. until her retirement twenty-six years ago. She enjoyed painting, quilt making and reading. Her husband, Fred F. Triffo, predeceased her. She is survived by her children: Eve (Ronald Gentemann) Triffo of Canon City; Gerald (Patty Ross) Triffo of Penrose; James (Lou) Triffo of Oklahoma City; and Jean (Tony Sloan) Triffo of Trotwood, Ohio. She is also survived by two grandsons: Thomas (Ashley) Triffo of Colorado Springs, and Matthew Savchitz of Dayton, Ohio. Funeral services will be held in Binghamton, New York in February 2013. Her family would like to thank the care givers at Hildebrand Care Center and Fremont Regional Hospice.

    HARPURSVILLE ? Bertha Jane Triffo, 71, of Harpursville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Wilson Regional Medical Center in Johnson City.

    Bertha was born on Nov.16, 1941, in Springville, Pa., daughter of the late Earl and Dorothy (Bolles) Mitchell.

    She worked most of her life as a nurses aid caring for others. In her free time, Bertha could be found volunteering at the Next 2 New or the Delaware Valley Humane Society. She had a love for animals, and a compassionate, caring soul for people and animals alike. Recently, Bertha was attending the First Baptist Church of Afton.

    Bertha had a sweetness to her that will be sorely missed by many, including her daughters: Ellen Hughs and her companion Charles McKendrick of Sidney; Laura and Don Lisenby of Sidney and their children, Ryan, Sean, Garrett and Heather; and Diana and Curt Bullis of Afton and their children, Nathaniel, Dawson, Curtis and Zachary; her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Neil Reigle of Binghamton, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

    A celebration of Bertha?s life with be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at the First Baptist Church, Caswell Street, Afton, with the Rev. Chris Prezorski, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bertha?s memory may be made to the Delaware Valley Humane Society, 101 East Main St. Sidney, NY 13838.

    Passed away suddenly, on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, on vacation in Florida. Loving wife and best friend of Don. Beloved mother of Gordon and Jennifer, mother-in-law and friend to Gordon and Shannon. Cherished grandmother of Logan and Hannah. Dear daughter of Olga and Benidict Triffo, and sister of Erwin Triffo. Special thanks to all who knew her.     Joan Triffo, 77 years, of Pinckney, Michigan died Thursday morning, May 24, 2012 at her daughters residence.

    She was born January 13, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan; the daughter of William and Evelyn (Kadlitz) Spurrier.

    Survivors include two sons, Robert (Jennifer) Triffo, Mike (Robin) Triffo; five daughters, Debbie Eckhardt, Mariann (Scott) Ruland, Sue (Keith) Horner, Jeannine (John) Meitz, Jennifer (Jamie) Adams; eighteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.


    Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial mass will be held at 12 noon Saturday, May 26 at St. Mary Catholic Church 10601 Dexter-Pinckney Rd. Pinckney, Michigan. Family will receive friends 4-8 PM Friday at Shelters Funeral Home in Pinckney, Michigan.

    Elk Grove, CA

    William Joseph Triffo (Bill), 91, passed away on September 12, 2012, at home in Elk Grove, CA, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born May 24, 1921, in Binghamton, NY to Jacob and Eva (Kaim) Triffo.
    Bill grew up in Binghamton and graduated from North High School. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942 where he served as a mechanic. Following in his father's footsteps, Bill worked for Kroehler Furniture for over 40 years. It was at Kroehlers that Bill met the first love of his life, Theresa (Nemec) Triffo. Together they had 5 children and 14 grandchildren.
    Bill was always there to help anyone who needed his assistance. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and watching sports, but above all he enjoyed people and loved to play cards. He had a great sense of humor, a positive outlook on life and a way of accepting everyone for who they were. Bill was a devout Catholic and truly lived his faith. To Bill, family was foremost, and he will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
    Bill will be missed by many, particularly by the second love of his life, Regina 'Jean' Triffo, his children Gary (Linda) Triffo, Karen (Ron) Alonzo, Patty (Jerry) Foote, Cindy Triffo, and Rick (Tammy) Triffo; also by his fourteen grandchildren as well as many great grandchildren. Bill was also dearly loved by Jean's large family, the members of his church and his community as a whole.
    A rosary and vigil service will be held Friday evening, September 21, for close friends and family, followed by a funeral mass, September 22, 12:30 pm, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, located at 9539 Raquet Court, Elk Grove, CA 95758 (916) 684-5722. East Lawn Elk Grove Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
    In lieu of flowers, please have a Mass intention said for the repose of the soul of Bill Triffo.
